What most of us buy and think of as wasabi, is actually coloured horseradish. Pure wasabi has a very short shelf life and is much coveted by aficianados of sashimi. This is the real thing, grown here in NZ and is a flavour we’re turning too increasingly instead of mustard, becos it gives a nice kick of heat, without being incendiary.
